Housing + Transportation Affordability Calculator
For much of the Shenandoah Valley, the car is not an amenity. It is part of the housing payment. A home that saves $200 a month is not truly affordable if it adds an extra hour of driving each day. That is why this dashboard measures housing and transportation together, combining local housing costs, tax data, commute patterns, and transportation assumptions to show what affordability really looks like across Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, and Page counties. Because affordability is not just what you pay for a roof. It is what it costs to participate in everyday life.
